A tailored rehabilitation plan

Mine Site Rehabilitation

With all eyes on mining producers to meet social and environmental expectations, remediation and amelioration of used sites is in the spotlight. Planning for a better ending for the site starts as early as possible – even at greenfield stage is ideal.

With innovative soil remediation and carefully planned introduction of fauna and flora, originally unfertile, bleak landscapes can result in lush, fertile spaces that benefit the local community through opportunities for farming, recreation and more.

Green Acres have many years of experience in all stages of mine preparation, operation and closure phases. Amelioration and revegetation projects roll out as the site matures – and we’re ready to partner with you to produce fertile, rehabilitated land that finishes better than it started.

Revegetation Fleet

Revegetation Fleet | Green Acres Group

Our revegetation fleet of four hydromulching units and four tractor/drill seeders is complemented by an extensive array of watercarts ranging from 15kl – 20kL, tankers from 30kl -90kl and articulated watercarts from 25kl – 35kL.

Equipment is available to assist with both the revegetation and environmental control measures including dust suppression and soil stabilisation often required on mine sites.

The Green Acres Approach

The Green Acres Approach | Green Acres Group

We understand that every site is different, and that each site typically contains varied soil composition and quality. That’s why we take a customised approach to amelioration, working with you to develop a plan that is tailored to the specific needs of your project. We will consider the soil type, the climate, the environmental regulations, and your goals for the site when developing our plan.

When minimal soil data is available, we select amelioration products and delivery methods based on our experience and knowledge of the local environment. With more than two decades of experience in the Bowen and Surat Basins, we are familiar with soil profiles throughout the area, and will bring all prior knowledge to your project.

If a full soil profile for a particular area is provided, we send it to a laboratory for analysis. An agronomist and soil scientist will then recommend amelioration products and methods that are tailored to the specific site and its conditions. These may include adding organic matter and adjusting the pH and carbon levels.

We will also work with you to select the best methods of seeding and watering for the terrain to ensure successful germination. When the worked areas are effectively ameliorated and rehabilitated to meet environmental standards and project outcomes, our job is done.

We are committed to providing high-quality site rehabilitation services that meet the needs of our clients and protect the environment. We are a team of experienced professionals who are passionate about restoring and improving the quality of the land.
